How to add a business partner

Once you’ve created tradeflows, you can share these tradeflows with partner organisations (”partners”).

Make sure the partner exists in Dockflow

If you want to add a partner to the Dockflow system, this can be done via Settings > Partners:

add business part

First, search for the partner that you want to add, it might already exists.

If it does not exists, there are 3 options for adding a new organisation:

  • The partner already exists on Dockflow, but you are not connected to it.
  • The partner has invited you to Dockflow using a partner-code
  • The partner is not on Dockflow yet.

For these 3 scenario’s, use the wizard provided by clicking the “+” button on the Partners-page:

Note that organisation names are used to uniquely identify a partner: “ACME” is not equal to “ACME S.A.” and Dockflow will see these organisations as completely seperate organisations.

Share tradeflows with the partner

A tradeflow can be shared via three ways:

  • Manually, via the interface on the platform, by sharing a specific tradeflow with a partner.
  • Via template excel import, when filling the “client” column, an organisation will be created with that name, and the tradeflow will be shared with that partner.
  • Via integration, see https://api.dockflow.com

Add users to the partner

When you’ve made sure the partner exists, and have shared tradeflows with the partner, there is one last step: adding users to the partner-organisation, so they can login.

It is recommended to add at least 1 user and make them “organisation-admin”, meaning they can add other users of their company.

When you are “service-provider” for a company, you can “login as them” using the “partners”-view:

If you don’t have access to login as your client, please contact support.

When you are logged in as your partner, you will be able to add users to the account via Settings > Organisation.

Note: make sure to be logged in as them, and not adding these users to your own organisation.
