Flags are a powerful tool in Dockflow that help you identify shipments that require attention or specific actions. These flags are typically set by automations, serving as indicators that something needs to be checked with a shipment. By default, flags are only visible internally to users within your organization. However, you can extend their visibility to your partners to facilitate collaboration.
🌐 Setting Flags for Partners
There are two main methods for setting flags for your partners:
Method 1: Sharing Flags Created in Your Organization
-
Access Flags in Automations: Navigate to the "Automations" section and click on the "Flags" tab.
-
Toggle Flag Visibility: For each flag listed, you'll find a button on the left side that allows you to switch between "Private" and "Shared."
- If a flag is set to "Private," it will only be visible to users within your organization.
- If a flag is set to "Shared," it becomes visible to all partners involved in the corresponding tradeflow.
For instance, if you have an ETA change flag set on a tradeflow, initially, it will only be visible to users within your organization. By switching it to "Shared," all partners associated with the tradeflow will also have visibility into this flag.
Method 2: Creating Flags on Partner Accounts
-
Log in as a Partner: Access the "Settings" menu, then navigate to "Partners." Here, you can log in as a partner, which means you'll be working within your partner's account.
-
Create a Flag: While logged in as the partner, create a new flag within their account. This flag will be visible to all users within your partner's organization.
Please note that flags created within a partner's account are initially private to them and are not visible in your main organization. You can, however, share these flags with your organization by following Method 1.
-
Configure an Automation: To actually set flags in your partner's account, you need to create an automation. This automation should be set up to assign the flag under specific criteria.
- Navigate to the "Automations" section in your partner's account.
- Create a new automation that sets the flag based on the desired conditions.
-
Set notifications for the flag (if required)
🔔 Setting Notifications for Shared Flags
To ensure effective collaboration, it's essential to configure notifications for shared flags within Method 2. Users can customize their notification settings to receive alerts when a shared flag is set.
By effectively utilizing flags and sharing them with your partners, you can streamline communication, improve transparency, and enhance collaboration in your supply chain management.
